None beyond the role
Live captions show what people say in a meeting as subtitles in each participant's language. Audio is sent to the AI provider your admin configured (OpenAI or Google) while captions are on. Captions are a cloud feature, not a private encrypted channel.
Turn captions on
- An admin opens Admin → Sales & integrations → Live captions, chooses OpenAI or Google, enters the API key, and turns Enabled on. The page also shows whether the Captions service worker is running.
- The host clicks CC once: captions turn on for the meeting and for everyone in it. Anyone can click CC again to hide or show captions just for themselves; the arrow next to it opens the options (My language, and for the host Turn off captions for everyone). The button shows the state: grey = off, spinner = Starting…, highlighted CC on = on, red dot = a problem. A small chip in the top-left corner says the same in words: Starting captions…, Listening… (on, nobody has spoken yet), Captions on · <language> or Captions unavailable: <reason>. If nothing starts within about 20 seconds you see Captions service not running.
- Everyone sees a notice that audio is processed by the provider. If transcript saving is on, the notice also says a transcript and summary will be saved to the deal (kept for 6 months, then deleted automatically).
No server restart is required. Turning Enabled off in Admin stops new caption processing; meetings continue normally.
Your language
- My language (CC arrow ▸ panel) — the language you speak and read captions in. It is prefilled from your Dromix language (guests: the browser language) and remembered on this browser. Captions of others are translated into it; your own speech is recognized in it. There is no Auto-detect: captions are most accurate when Dromix knows the language you speak.
Transcript on the deal
When the meeting ends, Dromix can save the transcript (speaker, time, original text and language) and a short summary to the deal timeline. The host can turn saving off for that meeting. Admins or the deal owner can delete a transcript earlier. Transcripts are kept for 6 months, then deleted automatically.
If captions fail
The meeting continues. You may see a small notice (missing key, provider unreachable, unsupported language).
