Requirements

  • CRM access (department, personal grant or channel)

You can import and export contacts, companies, leads and deals as CSV files. Owner and Company admin always can. Other people with CRM accessCRM access Permission to open Leads, Contacts, Companies and the Deals board. Owners and Company admins always have it; other people get it through their department, a personal grant, or access to a messaging channel. can when a Company admin turns on Let people with CRM access import and export contacts, leads and deals in Company admin → Company → Settings → Leads.

Open Contacts, Companies, Leads or Deals and select CSV in the toolbar. If you do not see it, you are not allowed to import or export.

Import a file

  1. On the Import tab, select Choose a CSV file, or drop it on the box. Up to 5 MB and 10,000 rows. From Excel, use File → Save as → CSV UTF-8. Download a template gives you a file with the right columns.
  2. Match each column to a field. Columns are matched by name; change any that are wrong or pick Don't import. Match at least a name, email, phone or company column.
  3. Choose what happens when a record already exists (same email or phone): - Skip duplicates: rows that already exist are left out. - Update existing: fields that have a value in the file are filled in or overwritten. - Create anyway: always add a new record. Use it only when the file has no duplicates.
  4. For leads and deals, choose defaults for rows without a value: Owner when the file has none, Pipeline when the file has none, Stage when the file has none and Currency when the file has none.
  5. Select Check rows. Dromix shows which rows are ready, which have warnings and which have errors (those are skipped).
  6. Select Import. A large file imports in the background; you see the progress.

Imported records get the source CSV import. An import never sends emails, runs automations or notifies anyone.

Fix errors

When the import finishes, you see how many records were added, updated and skipped, and how many rows had errors. Select Download error rows, fix them in the file and import that file again.

Undo an import

Under Recent imports, select Undo next to the import. This removes the records the import created, unless someone has worked on them since (notes, messages, deals). Records the import updated stay updated. Owners and Company admins see everyone's imports; others see their own.

Export

  1. Set the filters and the view you want in the list.
  2. Select CSV, open the Export tab and select Download CSV.

The file contains what the current view shows. Exports of deals include only deals you can see. Notes and conversation content are never exported. Every export is recorded in the audit log.
