Set up lost reasons

When a deal moves into a Lost stage, Dromix asks Why was it lost? Owner and Company admin choose the list of reasons. They feed the Lost reasons report.

Each pipeline has its own list. Open Company admin → Sales & integrations → Pipelines, select a pipeline and scroll to Lost reasons, or open the Lost reasons tab of a pipeline in the setup wizard. Changes apply only to that pipeline.

A new pipeline from a template or a blank pipeline starts with the default reasons. Copy a pipeline copies the reasons of the pipeline you copy; after that, the two lists are separate. The Lost reasons report puts the same reason from different pipelines in one row.

#Add and order reasons

1. Under New reason, enter a name, for example Contract terms, and select Add.
2. Use the arrows to move a reason up or down. People see the reasons in this order.
3. To rename a reason, select the pencil, change the name and select Save. Deals that already use it show the new name.

The default reasons show in each person's language. Once you rename a reason, everyone sees the name exactly as you typed it.

#Make a reason or a note required

• Require lost reason: a deal cannot be marked lost without a reason. This setting applies to all pipelines. When it is off, the reason is optional. You see A reason is now required or A reason is now optional.
• Note required next to a reason: people must write a note when they pick this reason, for example for Other.

The question is asked everywhere a deal is lost: on the board, in the list, on the deal page and on the phone. If there are no reasons at all, deals can be marked lost without one.

#Retire or delete a reason

• A reason that no deal uses yet is deleted.
• A reason that deals already use is retired instead: Reason retired: deals that already use it keep it. It is no longer offered for new lost deals.

Open Retired reasons to see them, and select Restore to offer one again.
